Hello there my fellow retail enthusiasts!
My name is Samantha Zurawski and I am the newest addition to the Retailbound family! It is my job to create a strong following for our company through social media and to keep our audience in the know through this online blog. Over the next couple of weeks, I will be your main connection between Retailbound and the fast-paced world of marketing. So where do we begin? Do we start with the tried and true 4 P’s or do we fast forward to the new world of social media marketing? I’ve decided to take things in a different direction and cover a platform that can sometimes be undervalued, the YouTube video.
Here at Retailbound we have never dabbled in the world of online videos. But one of our clients brought it to our attention that we were missing out on some great opportunities! Over the past week I have done some groundwork and researched how other marketing firms are using the video world to grow their businesses. And surprisingly, it has actually made a positive impact on their business. Who knew it could be that simple? As I was carrying out my research, I found that many companies had decided to go down the route of using whiteboard explainer videos to promote their business and to get their message across. From what I saw, they were brilliant, and now I know why many organizations decide to use videos to market their business on the likes of YouTube and their own website. Maybe it’s time for me to do the same? You see, I thought YouTube was only full of sketchy rap music and hilarious cat videos, but there is serious untapped potential just waiting to be unleashed. What potential you may ask?
Exposure. Exposure. Exposure. Whether you’re a small business or even if you’re a larger company, the opportunity to introduce yourself to new clients is never one you should pass up. YouTube allows your business to attract new clients in a very unique way. The audience is entertained by the content while simultaneously being exposed to your branding message and the various services your company offers. Even if you’re video only gets 50-100 views, that is still 50-100 people that you may not have been reaching through traditional marketing. That of course is assuming that the mothers of your employees aren’t the ones watching the videos on repeat, haha. But in all seriousness, the videos allow for cross-promotion of your business by allowing the video to link to your company’s website or other social media platforms. It’s hard to say no to that.
So grab a camcorder or just use your laptops’ camera and give YouTube videos a spin. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the increased traffic you’ll generate for your business. In the meantime keep your eyes peeled for the first Retailbound YouTube video which goes live sometime this next week! So until next time folks, it’s Sam signing off!
